Designing an arts building for adults with autism, for me, invited a glimpse into a fascinating world where the work is authentic and freed from fashionable shackles and logic. A visual language, which mediates between the inside and the outside, I found it appropriate to allow the space to reflect their inner world revealed in paintings full of details that were enlarged to a wall and in ceramic works of huge and colorful animal heads. The furniture in the workshops was designed from birch wood, with the understanding that in natural materials endless sensory information flows. The environment plays an important role in the functioning of autistic people, their disability is .affected by the interaction between the characteristics of the environment in which they live
